Monitoring Academy: Installing TCR 3.1.2.1 with Non-Root User Account

Some weeks ago I created a blog with the steps to install TCR 3.1.0.1 with non-root user (https://ibm.biz/Bd4ear) .

Now I have been asked for creating a new blog to cover the installation TCR 3.1.2.1 since some "little" steps (screenshots) have been changed between versions and indicating the components needed and their part numbers. So, here we are with a new blog......

This Doc. cover the installation the TCR 3.1.2.1 with a non-root user in a RH 6.2. The package needed and used for this installation are:

CN6WAML – JazzSM 1.1.2.1
CN6WEML – TCR 3.1.2.1
CN553ML – WAS 8.5.5.4
CIXV0ML – DB2 10.5 FP03

Relevant information:

Hostname = ITM63lab
fran = non-root user
tcruser = instance db2 owner
tipadmin = WAS admin user
/home/fran/IBM = installation path
/home/fran/Desktop/tcr312/ = path for the downloaded package and repository

These are the points to discuss :

A. Prereq Scanner

B. DB2 10.5 FP3 installation

C. Installing JazzSM 1.1.2.1 and Webphere 8.5.5.4

D. Creating manually the Content Store for TCR 3.1.2.1

E. Installing Reporting Services and TCR 3.1.2.1

F. Installing Dashboard application service HUB 3.1.2.1

H. Verifying the TCR installation

A. PREREQ. SCANNER

The first thing we have to do before starting any installation is to be sure that the HW nad SW prereq. are right for our product being installed.

B. DB2 10.5 FP03 INSTALLATION

NOTE: It is installed the same way indicated in https://ibm.biz/Bd4eaG , but in this case we are going to create a Db2 instance called “tcruser”

C. INSTALLING JazzSM 1.1.2.1 AND WEBSPHERE 8.5.5.1

NOTE: It is installed the same way indicated in https://ibm.biz/Bd4eGi (TCR 3.1.0.1) but in this case we used the "fran" as non-root user account and our installation path were:

/home/fran/IBM /JazzSM
/home/fran/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer
