z/OS Connect 3.0.91 now available

z/OS Connect 3.0.91 is now available with enhanced versions of the z/OS Connect API toolkit, the z/OS Connect Gradle plug-ins, IBM z/OS Connect Operator and the z/OS Connect CASE package bundle file and one set of documentation for z/OS Connect. NEW

As of z/OS Connect 3.0.91, the z/OS Connect (OpenAPI2) documentation and the z/OS Connect (OpenAPI3) documentation has been merged to one set of z/OS Connect documentation. Redirects will be place from the z/OS Connect (OpenAPI2) documentation and the z/OS Connect (OpenAPI3) documentation to the new new z/OS Connect documentation. If by any chance, any of these redirects don’t take you to the correct page in the new z/OS Connect documentation, please let the team know by using “Was this topic helpful?’ feedback facility in IBM documentation. The team will be monitoring for feedback so any feedback on what you like about the new documentation, what could be improved upon, please let us know. z/OS Connect v3 has two base features: zosConnect-2.0 and zosConnect-3.0. Typically, zosConnect-2.0 is applicable to API providers and API requesters conforming to the OpenAPI 2 specification. The zosConnect-3.0 is applicable to API providers and API requesters conforming to the OpenAPI 3 specification. The new documentation uses these base features through the use of tagging to indicate which z/OS Connect base feature the content on the page is applicable to. If the content is applicable to both z/OS Connect base features, the page won't have either the ‘zosConnect-2.0’ tag or the ‘zosConnect-3.0’ tag. There are also tags for 'Started task’ and ‘Containers’.

Enhancements

As a result of APAR PH64000 and PH6488,1 the version of some API project files has changed. For API projects created with the z/OS Connect Designer, loading the existing projects into the Designer will update them to the latest version and display an informational message. For API projects created by using the z/OS Connect API provider or API requester Gradle plug-ins, when building with the latest plug-in versions, the WAR files are updated to use the latest API project file versions. The version of the API provider Gradle plug-in is upgraded to 1.4.9.
The version of the API requester Gradle plug-in is upgraded to 1.2.3.
z/OS Connect Operator is updated to 1.0.10 and the z/OS Connect CASE package bundle file is updated to 1.0.11. For more information, see Install the IBM Operator Catalog in Red Hat OpenShift.
IBM z/OS Connect is compatible with API toolkit 3.2.9.16, 3.3.0.7, and 3.4.0.

Fixes

PH62509 - Fields with “Code page conversion” disabled and “Omit fields with uniform byte values” set are not omitted.
PH63339 - The IBM z/OS Connect API toolkit reports a java.lang.IllegalArgumentException when saving an API.
PH64000 - OpenAPI 3 optional fields found because they are set to null causing the _existence flag to be set incorrectly.
PH64881 - An empty object in an OpenAPI 3 payload is not processed by the z/OS Connect Server.
PH65315 - IBM z/OS Connect creates unnecessary empty resources/imsmobile-config directories when starting.
PH65373 - IPIC connections receive “BAQR0664E reason:java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out. 25/02/28 PTF PECHANGE”
