z/OS Connect v3.0.81 is now available with PassTicket authentication for IMS and Db2, Java 11 and Java 17 support and a new version of Liberty (24.0.0.3)

z/OS Connect 3.0.81 is now available with PassTicket authentication for IMS and Db2, support for Java 11 and Java 17 and a new version of Liberty in addition to maintenance fixes for z/OS Connect OpenAPI2 and OpenAPI3. Enhancements

The IBM z/OS Connect native server now supports running with IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS Java™ 11 and IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS Java 17, when using single-byte character set (SBCS) code pages. Please note, you should continue to use Java 8 for double-byte character set (DBCS) code pages. For more information, see Updating the z/OS Connect Java runtime version.
IBM z/OS Connect is enhanced to support the use of PassTicket authentication for IMS and Db2 z/OS Assets. Using PassTickets allows for z/OS Connect to enable SAF authentication for IMS and Db2 without access to the SAF password. The version of Liberty that is embedded in IBM z/OS Connect is upgraded to 24.0.0.3. For more information, see What is new in this release of Liberty in the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Liberty documentation. The version of the Angel that is shipped with Liberty 24.0.0.3 is version 22.
A new CICS® service provider property, connectionRef is available that enables the connection reference specified in a SAR file to be overridden in server.xml. For more information, see CICS service provider property attributes.

Fixes

PH59224 - When implementing an outbound call from a z/OS Connect Server to an external REST API accessed via a proxy server, HTTP status code 407 is returned.
PH60883 - Message CWWKE0701E and a NullPointerException is written for a service during server shutdown.
PH58775 - z/OS Connect data conversion for COBOL packed decimal fields does not report conversion errors.
