IBM Software Hub Premium provides the IBM Software Hub AI Assistant, a generative AI-powered feature. Released in IBM Software Hub v5.2, it is the first step in augmenting and infusing the platform with AI functionality. In this version, assistant supports document search and metric query use case, allowing administrative users to find information and retrieve system metrics right within the interface.

What’s new with IBM Software Hub AI Assistant?

IBM Software Hub AI Assistant allows administrative user find information about IBM Software Hub platform and it’s eco-system through a chat interface. It could be information about a specific feature, event, or command to take action. IBM Software Hub Assistant is powered by IBM Watsonx Granite model.

IBM Software Hub AI Assistant in version 5.2 introduces generative AI recommendations for specific use cases. This feature offers a generative AI chat experience using the following:

  1. Ease of use through pre-defined prompts

  2. System metrics retrieval

  3. Conversational search

Ease of use through pre-defined prompts

IBM Software Hub AI Assistant v5.2 comes with pre-defined prompts to guide user on topics the chat can assist users with.

With easy-to-use clickable buttons, users can select a relevant topic to receive generative AI answers from the chat.

With guided prompts at their fingertips, IBM Software Hub administrators can instantly explore topics of interest like "Securing your environment" and "Troubleshooting backup and restore." 

Users can interact effortlessly using click-based prompts or pasted queries - accessing key insights and system metrics right from the interface.

System Metrics Retrieval

IBM Software Hub AI Assistant v5.2 now provides the ability to retrieve various metrics for the system.

Administrators can now receive essential metrics such as “Highest usage by pod”, “Network performance status”, and “Allocated resources” from the AI Assistant from a simple dropdown selection.

In the following screen, it shows “Highest usage by pod” where an administrator has a view of the highest CPU usage from the chat interface.

Conversational Search

Whether typing freely or choosing from ready-made prompts, users can engage the AI assistant for instant answers with a generative AI conversational search on topics from IBM Software Hub documentation.

With generative AI powered by IBM Watsonx Granite model, chat assistant provides a natural language answer with a clickable source link for the question.

With the clickable source link provided below answer, users can quickly access the documentation for a more comprehensive view of the information shown in the chat assistant.
