There’s lots going on with Db2! I’d like to bring your attention to the recent announcement of IBM Data Gate on Cloud on AWS.
If you are not familiar with IBM Db2 for z/OS Data Gate, it delivers ultra-efficient, transactionally consistent Db2 for z/OS data synchronization for hybrid cloud use cases through IBM Cloud Pak for Data.
Recently, we announced IBM Data Gate on Cloud for AWS. This offers the same capability to efficiently synchronize Db2 for z/OS data, but the target is Db2 Warehouse on Cloud (SaaS) on AWS. For more on Db2 for z/OS Data Gate and Data Gate on Cloud, read the solution brief here.
What does Data Gate on Cloud provide?
Data Gate on Cloud seamlessly synchronizes Db2 for z/OS data to Db2 Warehouse on Cloud (on AWS). From there, data could be accessed directly for a variety of use cases. Transactional data is essential to understanding the current state of the business and predicting outcomes. Many organizations are taking advantage of the public cloud for their data warehousing and data lakehouse needs. IBM is facilitating the synchronization of Db2 for z/OS data to Db2 Warehouse on AWS where it can be accessed directly or accessed in Spark or Presto within a wastonx.data lakehouse.
