What's New:
This modification release addresses the modernization of Transaction Program support using CPI-C by providing CPI-C for RUST development files needed to make LU6.2 SNA transactions. Like the CPI-C for Java support that has been provided for 20+ years, the CPI-C for RUST provides the interface files needed to call the C library for CPI-C. These type of transactions interface with the legacy COBOL applications that manage many industries today.
The requirement for using the legacy Linux Streams (LiS) project code has changed to use a forked version, Communications Server Linux Streams (CSLiS). This open source project is more optimal for the scheduling of the SNA communications and also provides more automated scripting for maintaining concurrency when the Linux kernel gets updated.
Continuing to support the updated releases from Red Hat, Ubuntu and SuSE, this release also adds support for RHEL 9.2, SLES 15 SP5 and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. As in the Communications Server for Data Center Deployment V7.1, platform support continues for x86_64, ppc64le and s390x architecture on Linux, ppc64 for AIX platforms. The Remote API Client package that comes with the product supports these same platforms and Windows 64-bit systems (x86_64). The Remote API Client provides a SNA over TCP/IP connectivity that fits well with containers and Cloud implementations.
