How Does IBM BPM Track a Task After It Has Been Claimed by a User?

Hi All, I’ve worked with other BPM products, but am relatively new to IBM BPM. My question is, how does IBM BPM track a task after it's been claimed by a user? It seems I am easily able to see the Task Status (Open, Assigned, Claimed, etc.), but not the life of a task. Thanks for any assistance.
