Monitoring Academy: Helping Us Help You - TEP JAR File Expiration

By IMWUC Community Team posted Wed July 26, 2017 06:06 AM

A quick heads up - this is a followup to a blog my colleague Sandra posted back at the start of February.

The current Java certificates included with the IBM Tivoli Monitoring portal client jar files expired April 2016. The technote below provides more details on the process we use to update the TEP support files and what you need to do if you run into an expired certificates issue in your environment :

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21972841

The long and short of it is that you need to send us all the JAR files as detailed in that technote. We will then re-sign these and return them to you for application in your environment. It's a very quick procedure as long as you send us all the files that we ask for. In most cases we can have the PMR turned around on the same day. Please don't leave this for too much longer if you haven't been in touch already as your users will lose access when the certificates expire.

This is something we really need to get sorted for you and it's something that can be done very quickly and easily, not requiring any reconfiguration of the TEPS, no stopping of any components so it's not even something you need to schedule downtime for. A lot of customers have already logged PMRs with us to have this done over the last few months, but if there's any of you out there who haven't looked into this yet, please don't leave it much longer before getting in touch with support.
