IBM Workflow Assistant in Workplace provides a chat interface for conversational interactions with your workflows. Using IBM Watsonx Assistant and Watsonx generative AI, it enables you to navigate faster, gain better insight into your tasks, and be more productive in completing your work.

Workflow Assistant improves user experience in the following aspects:

Search, filter, and prioritize

You can use the assistant to find, filter, and prioritize tasks, workflows, and cases at speed and with precision. It can prioritize tasks and identify the next best task that you can work on. AI-based navigation sorts through your list of tasks and makes it faster to achieve your business outcome.

Gain insight into tasks

The assistant can summarize and answer questions about a task. For example, you can ask about the content, the history, or for a complete summary of a task. For these functions to work in the assistant, you need to enable the generative AI feature. For more information, see Enabling generative AI in Business Automation Workflow traditional.

Assist you in completing work

The assistant can leverage generative AI capabilities to help you improve your productivity and complete your tasks more efficiently. For example, you could prompt the assistant to draft an email response to a request that you received.

Workflow Assistant provides basic functions, like filtering on tasks and workflows, for example:

  •     List all my overdue tasks

  • Show tasks with Location set to Denver

As a team manager, efficiently reassign team tasks between team members

  • Reassign selected tasks to John
