IBM Storage Protect 8.2.0 :-
Built on a proven legacy
IBM Storage Protect has been a core part of enterprise data protection strategies for years. Version 8.2.0 continues that legacy by modernizing the product for current and future environments. While this is not a feature-heavy release, it plays a critical role in preparing the platform for upcoming enhancements.
Future-ready architecture
This release streamlines the product support matrix by deprecating platforms and technologies that are no longer commonly used. This allows us to focus more efficiently on modern operating environments and deliver improvements faster in future updates.
Strengthening the core
Behind the scenes, 8.2.0 delivers several improvements: Platform and operating system currency updates, Codebase refinements for improved stability, Resolved known issues from earlier 8.1.x versions (including APARs and PSIRTs).These efforts contribute to a more stable and secure experience for our customers, by reinforcing our long-term commitment to product quality and customer success.
A clearer path to resilience
As part of IBM’s broader storage strategy, SP 8.2.0 also sets the stage for tighter alignment with IBM Storage Defender. In future releases, this integration will help organizations to strengthen their resilience posture by connecting data protection more seamlessly with cybersecurity, recovery orchestration, and compliance needs.
