Let’s Create A Better World With Automation – An End-of-year Celebration of the IBM Automation Communities

Everyone has a hobby they are passionate about, whether painting after work or gardening on weekends. Still, we don't talk about the passion or emotional connections we have with organizations fighting to make the world better. So, we are providing you with the opportunity to tell us about your favorite charitable foundation. Post a link to your favorite charitable foundation or group addressing issues that are important to you, whether sustainability, social injustice, health, or quality of life issues. We would love to hear about these foundations' work and why you connect to it.

We will highlight as many as possible during our end-of-year virtual celebration, "Let's Create a Better World with Automation," on December 14, 2022, at 11 AM ET". We will also have a few spots available if you want to speak about an organization and bring awareness to its mission (register for the event here.)

This is an opportunity for all members of our four Automation Communities - AIOps & IT Automation, Business Automation, Integration and WebSphere, Liberty, Java & DevOps – this hour will share highlights from 2022, plans for 2023 and feature a special guest headliner, Rachel Reinitz, IBM Fellow and Founder of IBM Garage, who will present a new methodology for starting Automation called, "Identifying Automation Value in a Few Hours." In addition, we will call out your submitted organizations throughout the hour.


I will kick it off. 



My Charitable foundation of choice is Philabundance in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a non-profit food bank serving more than 130,000 people weekly throughout the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley area. They are focused on driving hunger away from communities and ending hunger forever by distributing food, reducing food waste, increasing access to nutritious meals, and tackling the root causes of hunger through programs such as the Philadebundance community kitchen. I have personally contributed funds and volunteered my time to help Philabundance reduce hunger and ensure everyone has food access.
