Connect with Db2, Informix, Netezza, open source, and other data experts to gain value from your data, share insights, and solve problems.
IBM SQL Tuning Services provides the ability to analyze and tune the performance of SQL queries that work with Db2 for z/OS data. It can be used on its own as an API or as an integrated component of the Db2 Administration Foundation and Db2 for z/OS Developer Extension graphical user interfaces.
To help clarify the installation and configuration process, we’ve created a set of instructions that walk you through each step of the process. These instructions are based on a simple architecture in which all of the SQL Tuning Services components reside on the same LPAR; however, the examples provided can serve as a guide that can be adapted to a more complex architecture. The paper includes examples of the jobs, commands, and configuration files that you will need to customize and run during the installation and configuration process. Wherever applicable, we’ve included sample values in these examples to help you identify and assign the appropriate values for your environment.
You can download the paper from here.
After you familiarize yourself with how to set up a simple environment, you can use the official product documentation to apply what you've learned to set up a more complex environment.
