s390x support comes to Travis CI!

By Elizabeth K. Joseph posted Tue November 12, 2019 04:30 PM

Today Travis CI, in partnership with the Canonical, IBM Power and IBM Z teams, announced the capability to build open source packages for IBM Z and Power: Build your open source projects on IBM Power and IBM Z CPU architecture.

This is exciting news for open source projects looking for a simple way to test their builds for s390x and ppc64le. To trigger the build, you add an "arch" section to your .travis.yml file to include s390x. More detailed instructions are available in the announcement blog post and the Travis CI documentation on Building on Multiple CPU Architectures.

If you'll be at GitHub Universe in San Francisco, I'll be there at the Travis booth on Wednesday, November 13th, with my colleagues from IBM Power talking about building your open source project for the mainframe and giving demos.
