Thank you for the great question. In IBM B2B Integrator (B2Bi) and IBM File Gateway (IFG) v6.0, WebSphere MQ (WSMQ) is only required when using Adapter Containers. If you are not using Adapter Containers, you do not need to install WSMQ. The license has been updated to reflect WSMQ may be used to support the principal product (B2Bi or IFG) use only. It's there if you need it. I hope that answers your question, please reply if you require further information.

The IBM product documentation of sterling integrator version 6 says below. Does it mean we don't need to install IBM WebSphere MQ if we are not using adapter containers?

A messaging queue is required for Sterling B2B Integrator if you are using adapter containers. IBM® Sterling B2B Integratorsupports only IBM MQ (formerly IBM WebSphere MQ) as a messaging queue.
