Accelerating the AI Journey with Open Innovation

Today we are excited to announce the availability of Red Hat OpenShift AI 3.0 on IBM® Power®. This milestone represents over a year of collaboration and engineering dedication to bring the latest capabilities in open and production-ready AI development to IBM Power clients. Built on Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift AI provides a flexible and scalable MLOps platform for building, training, deploying, and monitoring machine learning and generative AI models. With version 3.0 now available on IBM Power, clients can unify their AI workloads from experimentation to production on a single enterprise-grade platform.

What is new in Red Hat OpenShift AI 3.0?

This release introduces a comprehensive set of new capabilities for AI developers, data scientists, and IT operations teams running on IBM Power. It includes the OpenShift AI Dashboard that provides a unified user experience across data science workflows, along with pipelines and notebooks that make it easy to iterate on machine learning models. A built-in Feature Store allows teams to manage, share, and reuse ML features, while new guardrails for text generation help improve control and safety in generative AI outputs. The integration of KServe enables organizations to run and scale both predictive and generative models, complemented by a Model Registry to store, version, and manage those models throughout their lifecycle. Support for vLLM brings efficient generative AI inference on CPU and the addition of Kueue streamlines quota management and job scheduling for ML workloads. Together, these capabilities make Red Hat OpenShift AI 3.0 a complete, enterprise-ready MLOps solution designed for the evolving demands of predictive and generative AI.

The Value of Red Hat OpenShift AI

Red Hat OpenShift AI provides organizations with a unified platform for collaborative data science, model lifecycle management, and AI deployment all powered by open-source innovation. It brings consistency and governance to the end-to-end AI workflow, allowing teams to move from experimentation to production with confidence. With its open and hybrid cloud architecture, organizations can deploy AI workloads wherever they need them while maintaining the flexibility to use their preferred tools, frameworks, and libraries. This openness not only accelerates innovation but also reduces operational complexity and prevents vendor lock-in, enabling enterprises to build sustainable and scalable AI strategies.

Why run Red Hat OpenShift AI on IBM Power?

By running Red Hat OpenShift AI on IBM Power, enterprises gain a foundation purpose-built for performance, scalability, and resilience. Power processor-based servers are engineered to support the most demanding AI and analytics workloads, delivering high throughput, low latency, and enterprise-grade security across hybrid cloud environments. Together, Red Hat OpenShift AI and IBM Power provide optimized AI performance by leveraging a high-performance CPU architecture and memory bandwidth for large-scale model inferencing. With enterprise reliability and uptime built into the platform, mission-critical AI workloads can run continuously without disruption, while robust security and governance features protect data and models through the hardware-based security of IBM Power and a trusted open-source foundation with Red Hat. This powerful combination enables organizations to build, scale, and operationalize AI with confidence, leveraging their existing IBM Power processor-based infrastructure while modernizing for generative AI and beyond.

Shaping the Future of Open AI Ecosystems

This release also highlights the deep commitment IBM and Red Hat have to the open source AI community. Core components like KServe, Kueue, and Kubeflow are products of that collaboration, demonstrating how open innovation continues to shape the next generation of AI platforms. As the AI landscape evolves, IBM Power will continue to provide a trusted and high-performance environment for enterprises to build and run AI workloads that are secure, reliable, efficient, and future-ready.
