Db2® for z/OS Development
The Catalog folder in database connections allows for easy exploration of schemas, storage groups, databases, and tables, with options to filter displayed objects. Enhanced database connectivity includes new preference settings, improved control over individual connections, and automatic reconnection capabilities. Additionally, a Test connection button has been added to the SQL Tuning Services Server properties page.

Editors
Support for the syntax changes in the April 2023 release of COBOL 6.4 and March 2023 release of PL/I 6.1. Additionally, a convenient addition to the toolbar is the "Show Whitespace Characters" button, designed specifically for REXX users.
ZUnit
ZUnit has introduced support for volume serial settings, allowing for automatic generation of sequential data sets during actions or operations. Additional preference settings will be available in ZUnit to specify volume serial and related data set characteristics. These preference values will be utilized for various allocations, including playback file, interim record data file, and other sequential data set allocations like the File I/O test file.
A new sample, TOURFILE.cbl
, has been added to the ZUnit framework. This sample serves as a demonstration of how to test COBOL batch file I/O application programs. In addition, the existing samples in the framework have been updated to enhance their user-friendliness, making them easier to use for developers and testers. For more information, see ZUnit (z/OS Automated Unit Testing Framework) Samples.
