Fixed as of August 2024
Users Affected: All IMS V15 DB/TM and DCCTL users of MFS with BUFNO= specified on the IMS FORMATA/B data set DD statements and APAR PH49046 applied.
Problem description: ABEND878 due to insufficient CTL region 24-bit storage after APAR PH49046 (PTF UI91893).
Additional problem summary: After APAR PH49046 (PTF UI91893), an extra buffer pool in 24-bit control region private storage is gotten for the IMS MFS FMTLIB data sets if BUFNO= is coded on the FORMATA / FORMATB DD cards. The size of this buffer is based on the number of buffers on BUFNO, and the block size of the FMTLIB data sets. This will increase 24-bit private usage in the control region, and can result in an ABEND878 or other storage abends if 24-bit storage is exhausted, depending on the current 24-bit storage usage.
Circumvention: Remove BUFNO=xx from the IMS FORMATA/B data set DD statements.
Fixing APAR: PH61839
Fixed as of June 24, 2024Users Affected: All IMS V15 MACB users with PH49046 (PTF UI91893) applied
Problem Description: If an I/O error occurs on the directory data set during IMPORT processing or when reading a member from the data set, unpredictable results may occur.
Circumvention: None
