  • 1.  Where can I get Interop.dclogXLib.dll?

    Posted Fri March 24, 2023 04:37 AM

Apparently, Interop.dclogXLib.dll is needed for Custom Action compile in Visual Studio.

But Interop.dclogXLib.dll is nowhere to be found in Datacap product folder.

Where can it get it? What is this dll for? Why isn't it included in Datacap product folder?

When creating custom action.  You'll need to grab the right DDK Datacap version.

    https://github.com/ibm-ecm/datacap-developer-kit

Please review the following.  Probably best to do this correctly as oppose to pull file or look for file and copying this dll between system.

    Thank you Blue Devil.

Do these zips and links contain dlls?

Last time I checked, these zips and links only had Datacap rulesets and definition files and I could not find dlls.

I'd like to know where I can find dlls, particularly, Interop.dclogXLib.dll.

Have a look at that Github link that was provided but download the Datacap-DDK-Custom-Actions.

These Interop are part of the .NET.

Depending on what MS visual studio and the .net you use to build your project.  Right?
So the client needs the same .NET version.

Dorathea comments below is  correct.  When customizing custom action you should use the correct DDK.  You don't want to pull and plug files as there are dependency or registration of the dll is required.

git zip file downloaded must contain everything you need including DLLS to customize.

to be sure you do not make a mistake  reload your dlls from your installed DAtacap folder (like c:\Datacap) and only if you do not find one dll reload this resource form the git folder.

do not forget check the Datacap documentation and  for each   new Datacap installed version you need  the same dlls for development that you have in your Datacap installation kit.

check waht Visual studio and compiler you need

    good luck

I should recommend you to use the git source code every time you do an upgrade and want to customize anything in IBM Datacap. This is the single mode to maintain an accurate Datacap environment including the customizing.

In order to be sure that you use the last git source versions of your updates, based on an IBM support contract, ask before each update about the last release of the toolkit for upgrades.
