  • 1.  Standalone Datacap Studio machine

    Hi,
    Has anyone ever setup a standalone Datacap Studio workstation which connects to the remote Datacap Server?
    Datacap Server and Rulerunner Server are installed in the security tight NW zone. 
    I want to create a dev workstation that has Datacap Studio along with Datacap Server manager and Rulerunner Server manager.
    Sometimes I will need to stop and restart Datacap Server / Rulerunner Server as I work with Datacap Studio.
    I am not sure if Datacap Studio, Datacap Server manager, and Rulerunner Server manager can all connect to the Servers at the remote location.

    Hello Dsakai, 

    Sounds like you have two separate questions in here. 

    1. You should be able to install just Dstudio and connect to this "secure" NW zone where your tms and RR Server is located.   The key is, can your dstudio access this secure site?  Dstudio would need to be able to talk to TMS and from TMS it needs to check with the admin & engine DB.

    2.  You want a dev dstudio with TMS and RR server.  This is our "so call" all in one system for testing.   This should work.

    I am not sure why you need to stop and restart the TMS / RRS server.  Unless this dStudio workstation is confused on which TMS server it's going to ie.   secure NW TMS or the "all in one" TMS. 

    The main point is to check your taskmaster application manager.  Check your apps and see if it's going the right TMS server and check your DB connection to the Database for admin and engine.

    We decided not to try this configuration. We put Dstudio along with Datacap server.

    Yes you can install DStudio, Datacap Server and RR server on the same box.  Is that what you are asking and then try to connect to this box from a remote box.
