Has anyone in the group created reporting capabilities with the process information in BWL?  Has anyone been able to generate reports on aggregated processes with information at the detail level, e.g. participant, cost, time, etc?

    Hello Brian
Yes, we have discussed reports based on BWL process information in an article. You can find it as use case 3 in the first article of the series: IBM Do more with the IBM Blueworks Live REST API

IBM Do more with the IBM Blueworks Live REST API
This series of articles, originally published in IBM developerWorks by Sam Weeks and Martin Westphal, introduces the Representational State Transfer (REST) application programming interface (API) for IBM® Blueworks Live, which provides extra capabilities such as customized reporting on business process information stored in Blueworks Live.

The easiest way to start is probably by using an excel export. More advanced reports can be done via the REST API of Blueworks Live. I have done a couple of sample reports. Let me know what you are looking for and I might have a related sample. As you specifically asked about aggregation: I know that our lab based service worked on a cost and time report, which is not so trivial as you require additional information such as branching probabilities. Other reports are easier and could provide additional value such as completeness of documentation, complexity, popularity to name a few examples.

I would recommend taking a look at our Blueworks Insights platform which does a lot of this for you automatically, and actually adds many features such as process scorecarding, risks and controls, simulation, etc. It has a 30-day trial and we have many ways of providing it free of charge to our clients. Let us know what you think.

    Hi Brian

I've extracted Blueworks data just using the excel dump (we're not set up for the api unfortunately) and pulled it into our EA tool and created a number of views which are consumed by a Power BI report that is basically a process portfolio mgt tool and project scoping/impact analysis tool. Users can browse the process architecture, view aggregated info by process owner, org unit, project, etc, such as number of processes, org spread, risk, criticality, improvement priority, etc. They can see what processes are in scope of a project and what applications, information entities, business rules, etc are linked to those processes. Metrics such as cost and cycle time are possible altho my organisation isn't very good at capturing that data yet.
