Process application deployment with Case features

    Hi,

we would know how the process application deployment with Case features import the case assets on target CPE ?

The CPE assets are in a FDM package, how is the principal mapping applied ?

When we deploy our own FDM packages, we proceed manually with the users and groups mapping but when it's automatic what is the method ?

The only target permissions are used (parent classes, ...) ?

    Thanks for help

    Yannick

    Hi Yannick,

Workflow automation app with Case features in it is a proper BAW (Case + Process) solution. Depending on your environment, version and configurations you can deploy the app in multiple ways.  Below link covers most of your doubts:

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/baw/24.x?topic=management-migrating-deploying-case-solutions

You need to migrate any artifact/configurations which are done outside Workflow center or Case Builder in dev environment to the target environment. Those could be additional packages in FileNet, security configurations, FileNet workflow system customization etc..

Make sure you use the correct export package depending on the target environment type dev or non-dev. You can do solution deployments online if target Process Server is connected or offline using REST API.

For example, BAW solution .zip package will contain only artifacts developed within Workflow center context. You may need to manually configure or migrate the dependent artifacts before .zip package import into the target environments.

Use the Security Manifest for Case solution to apply simple security configurations, you can map the new user/groups while applying the manifest. If you use FDM for migrating FileNet assets, associated users and groups are automatically mapped if they exists in target environment or else you can map them manually.

Let us know if you stuck at some point.

    Hi Ramesh,

today we have only one way to deploy a business automation application with or with out Case features for Workflow servers.

We use the REST API /std/container/install.

In case of application with case feature, the ZIP package contains all the Case assets (FileNet) which is deployed automatically with FDM APIs I think.

Our question is : during the import of case package on target environment, what is the import options used by the system (see attached sample used by use to import FDM packages).

    BR
