HI Randy,
Tthe CMEE 8.6 and 8.7 system are separated (i.e. no network access between them).
I have installed CMEE 8.3, 8.4 and 8.5 systems but now I cannot find the sysadmin client.
Usally on unix systems I launched the X11 application. On windows I installed the sysadmin client application.
I have to install the sysadmin client for our CMEE 8.7.
So where is the windows sysadmin client application on CMEE 8.6 install files ?
I don't see how to proceed, the software access catalog don't list any sysadmin client package, and when I install the CM 8.6 repository and launch the cfgmgr tool, also no sysadmin client option.
Thanks for help

Hi Yannick,
As I mentioned in my previous post, you would need to install the Java sys admin client on to a machine that is in the customer environment. This could be any system that can access the 8.7 server. If the exports of the 8.6 system was done in the same customer shop, you can use the same sys admin client that you used to do the export. Just register the 8.7 server to the existing sys admin client and use that. For directions on adding a server to sys admin see:
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/content-manager/8.7.0?topic=database-using-server-configuration-utility
If you need to install a sys admin client, you need to download the CM install from Passport Advantage. When you run the install, select just the System administration client to install. Most customers will do this on a separate Windows system in their environment, although Unix is also supported if you want to go that way.
Let me know if you have additional questions...

Hi Randy,
I want to import a CMEE v8.6 configuration from a customer on a CMEE v8.7 server.
In the web administration client, I cannot find the 'import' feature.
That's why I'm searching for the sysadmin client component in CMEE v8.6 or v8.7 installation files.
How can I achieve my objective ?
Thanks for help

Hi Yannick,
I am not sure what you are trying to download? Are you talking about downloading the CM System Administration client? You can download the CM install from Passport Advantage, which will allow you to install the sys admin client. If you are having trouble finding the 8.5 version, there is no problem installing the 8.6 version of the sys admin client on another system to access the 8.5 server. Sys admin is backward compatible.
If the sys admin client is not on your 8.5 server, it is probably because when the 8.5 install was done, the person who installed it did not choose to install the sys admin client. It is pretty common for customers to not install sys admin on their servers, but have separate systems (usually Windows) where this is installed.

Hi,
I don't see any option 'Import' in Navigator Content Manager Administration plugin.
since the system administration client deprecation, the only way to import attributes/item types is to use the Web Service messages ?
We have to develop some SOAP messages to import such configuration ?
Best regards
Yannick
