According to a Red Book "IBM Enterprise Content Management and Box"
    which applies to Datacap 9.0.0,

    "5.2.3 Security
Datacap uses a Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption for all authentication and special
    variables."

AES 128 bit encryption is used.
I've been asked by a client if this is safe.
I am sure AES 256 bit encryption is better, but 128 bit is still safe.
I already answered "Yes", but I want some more opinion on this.

Stay on AES128.  Datacap GSKit is not ready for AES 256.  I don't think they updated the GSKit to AES256 yet.

AES 128 is safe and approved in FIPS, PCI and other standards.
