    I could use the ODM 8.11 version and configure it through WAS JDBC to direct to the old ODM 8.10 database. So I used the same bank but with the most current application. In this case, you could just do the schema upgrade and not the migration. Could this upgrade process just be for the DC and RES to continue with the same database and their ruleapp deployment history?

    Yes the database 8.10 is fully compatible for DC and RES.

    Note however that in 8.11 there is no more support for classic rule projects. So if you are still using this type of project it needs to be migrated to a decision service project before moving to 8.11
