    Hello All,

Is there a way to decyrpt the GCD_BLOB of FNGCD Table's.
    I really appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

The data is encrypted with "zlib". I've used a program called "ip tools" to do it. But it no longer seems to be available (it was available at http://erwan.l.free.fr, but that site doesn't seem to exist anymore)

Perhaps there is something at https://www.zlib.net/?

If you have official support from IBM you might be able to persuade them to let you have the in-house "gcdutil" program (version 5.5.x, not earlier) which auto decrypts/encrypts the gcd blob to/from an xml file.

Thank you Steve i really appreciate your help.
I have already ask the support for the gcdutil but it seems i must make a L2 PMR so im still waiting for the return.

    Hi Adil EL FARGOUNI,

would you be so kind to explain a bit why you want to modify the GCD blobs?

I agree with Ankits opinion that most of the settings in the GCD can be modified using ACCE (and thus is controlled by the API). Any direct manipulation of the GCD blobs may cause serious issues and thus it's normally only perfomed by IBM expert labs or in very close teaming with the IBM support team.

    Best regards,

    Michael

    Hello Michael,

The reason behind is that i made a migration from IBM Case Manager to IBM BAW using External CPE & NAV by keeping the same DB SCHEMAS but wiith other names like (OSDES schema will be OSDESTST) so after finishing the installation i try to access to the objectstores using ACCE i got a message which contains a sqlqquery (select.. from OSDES) it's like ACCE trying to get the data from the old schema so to resolve this problem i try to edit the schemaDatabase property in Acce but with no sucess because i still got the same message error and for that i said why not changing the schema name in the blob of FNGCD, That's all.

    Best regards,
    Adil

Hi Adil EL FARGOUNI, Would you like to share your rationale of this request? Any specific requirements which ACCE can not fulfil and you need BLOB modification and push to GCD? Thanks

Hi Adil EL FARGOUNI, I do not think this is right approach. I think with this experimentation, you might land up damaging your working environment. Have you tried this before in the past? Have you seen dense XML BLOB which keep this configuration in your past experience? Suggest to work with IBM. Thanks

    Hi Adil EL FARGOUNI,

the DB schema name is set when you define the object store and typically cannot be changed afterwards as ACCE tries to validate the schema name and will refuse to save an incorrect value. I assume you used ACCE and went into the object store section and tried to manipulate the "Database Schema Name"? Did I get this right? If so, have you been able to save the change successfully or did ACCE not allow you to save this change?

In any case, you should work with the IBM support to get this problem fixed as opposed to trying to manipulate the GCD blobs.

    Best regards,

    Michael
