    Hi All,

Can Content Navigator be installed without Repository? Is it possible to authenticate users in Content Navigator using "Available realm definitions" / "Local Operating System" in WebSphere Security?

    Thanks,

Hi, remember you have authentication by the web application and authorization by the software P8/Navigator.  So while you could use a local repository for authentication there will be no way to authorize the user, also your repositories in ICN are tied to ECM libaries which use LDAP no way to tell ECM about your local WAS user repository.  No this won't work.

You don't need to connect ICN to a repository, but then what's the purpose?

You can use any user that can authenticates in WebSphere to access ICN. And if you need access to a P8 repository, you can create a directory configuration using VMM, so I don't see why this wouldn't work. But I never tested this with local OS users, only with the internal WAS repository.

    Hi,

My purpose is to use Content Navigator as a Datacap client. I am able to login to WebSphere with the user wasadmin, but when I try to login to Content Navigator with wasadmin I am refused access. So how should I configure it so that I can log in to Content Navigator using wasadmin or any other user?

    Thanks,

Well, when you deployed ICN, which user did you specify as the admin user, in the Configuration Manager?

The DB script that is generated will configure this user as the only initial ICN administrator. Since at first you only have the admin Desktop, you have to log in with this admin, you don't really have any other option.

    Hi Olivier,

Yes, I put wasadmin in the DB script and ran it in DB2.

    Best Regards
