Hi ,

Can any one help me to restrict , updating of  an asset specification when we update an Rotating Item Specification .Here we have a scenario lets say if a rotating item has associated to more than 100 rotating assets, and when we update an Item Specification then the asset specifications are updated as well we are facing screen buffering at this step.
I have tried by changing default value of ITEMSPECVALCHANGED to 1 in Assetpec Object, but still if I pick an item having more than 100 assets associated to it the screen is buffering for so long hours.

We are not using rotating assets, so I can't test it well, but maybe here would work also approach just like with classification, that You inactivate that rotating asset, when changing it.

Hi Anuja,

Depending on your use case, you can restrict this in several ways - 

1. Like you have mentioned, change ITEMSPECVALCHANGED to 1 on ASSETSPEC.
2. INHERITEDFROMITEM is set to 0 for any new specifications.
3. ALLASSPECUSEVALUE is set to 0 for all specifications.

Also check if you have "Use In Asset Description" checked and asset descriptions are being generated every time. This might cause in delay if asset descriptions are generated and asset change dates are updated as well. Check logs and see if it shows any long running queries or operations as well.

Firstly, Thanks for the information given. Secondly I have tried with all the mentioned 3 ways but still having the same issue. Finally,  that I do not  have any errors and sql queries getting executed in the logs.
