What is the best way to ensure two Netcool environments are the same?

We manually copy triggers in administrator from our Production environment to our DR environment. Obviously, this is time-consuming. Plus, during our failover test, ensuring both environments are equal is a pain as well.

You can use nco_confpack utility to export configuration data from the source objectserver and then the same utility to import it to the target objectserver. The data exported is:

    • riggers
    • Trigger groups
    • Procedures
    • User-defined signals
    • Menus
    • Tools
    • Prompts
    • Classes
    • Conversions
    • Column visuals
    • Colors
    • Users
    • Groups
    • Roles
    • Tables
    • Indexes
    • Views
    • Restriction filters
    • ObjectServer file definitions

For further information you can access IBM Knowledge Center at the link:

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSSHTQ_7.4.0/com.ibm.netcool_OMNIbus.doc_7.4.0/omnibus/wip/install/concept/omn_con_cnfp_importableexpobjs.html for Omnibus 7.4

    and

    https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSSHTQ_8.1.0/com.ibm.netcool_OMNIbus.doc_8.1.0/omnibus/wip/install/task/omn_con_importexportobjservconfpack.html for Omnibus 8.1.

I hope this will solve your issue.

To add on to Liviu's response, if the ObjectServer names differ between your production and DR environments, you may find the following link useful to ensure that your selfmonitoring, profiler, and trigger stats log files are generated with the correct names.
