From my understanding, there is not a way to make Watson's response conditional based on pre-defined customer responses set in advance.
I experimented with making actions the same as the pre-defined custom responses but it's 50-50 in registering the message. I acknowledge Watson is better suited to identify the intent of the language/question. How did you did your dialogue tree and the architecture/setup you used on the front-end.
