Does RPT have some cache files somewhere other than under the Sandbox?

For RPT 10.1.0, I just started getting this message whenever I do a save of my test script file (.testsuite). The rest of the message is just the path to the test script file (.testsuite) followed by the lines I've included below.

    • Every time I do a Save, the message shows up over a dozen times in the Error Log tab
    • It takes multiple minutes for all the messages to show up and RPT is unresponsive during this time
    • I have not made any new Rational software installations
    • I tried recreating my Sandbox from scratch (empty folder) and re-syncing with the Repo. I still get this message whenever I make a change and save the test script
    • I tried making a new small recording (both before and after recreating my Sandbox). When I make any changes to the generated script and save, I get the same messages
    • I took a successful recording from someone else not having this issue (both the .recdata file and the .recsession file) and generated a test script. Same messages are produced for me when I do a Save
    • I have over 40GB available on my drive (there's only one drive -- the RPT installation and the Sandbox folder are both on the same and only drive)

Hi, not sure what the "sandbox" refers to, is this another installation of RPT on the same machine or just a folder for a new workspace? this is confusing me:

"I tried recreating my Sandbox from scratch (empty folder) and re-syncing with the Repo. I still get this message whenever I make a change and save the test script

I tried making a new small recording (both before and after recreating my Sandbox). When I make any changes to the generated script and save, I get the same messages"

    ----

I think of "repo" as the Installation Manager repository for RPT. Is this checking out a workspace from source control?

On it's face, this is either a corrupt installation of RPT or a corrupt workspace.

Easier to rull out if it's a workspace issue by making a new workspace which is just a folder.

Make a new recording in the new workspace, if no symptoms appear then import General - File System - existing projects into workspace, make sure to check the "copy projects into workspace" button

Everywhere I wrote "Sandbox" just substitute "Workspace". I created a new Workspace, made a new recording, problem still occurs.

At this point we can rule out a workspace issue, that points the finger at RPT installation being corrupt. My dev contacts haven't seen this issue, I searched our Salesforce database for tickets with the same issue and found nothing.

I suggest a clean uninstall (remove the old installation directory), do a clean install of 10.1.3, don't try to update the java that RPT uses, etc.

Update Installation Manager before doing the install as well.

If you want, open a Salesforce ticket and we can guide you through the installation process if needed

Hi, is it possible that project was created with a shell shared RFT/RPT installation and your RPT installation isn't shell shared?

If making a new workspace and not not doing a Repo sync, can you create new tests and save them OK?
