  • 1.  Extracting WAS configuration

    Posted Fri May 21, 2021 12:26 PM
    Hi,

Some time ago IBM released a tool for extracting the configuration of a WAS cell but I can't find it anywhere. I have looked through support. Anyone seen it?

    Thanks,

    Paul

Hi Paul, if you just want to extract the configuration, you can use the embedded functionality:

    Hi Lars,

If I can avoid using wsadmin I will ....! I have always struggled with this tool so alternatives are always welcome.

Hi Paul, thanks for oyur feedback.

wsadmin might be sometimes a bit complex but in this case it is quiet easy.
You use wsadmin to extract the configuration and receive a flat file.
You adjust the configuration in the flat file.
You use wsadmin to apply the configuration.
So in total you only need a few wsadmin commands to extract, apply and save the configuration.
