We are running IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version 12.10.FC12 w/HDR/RSS on CentOS Linux 3.10.0-862.3.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon May 21 23:36:36 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.  I am going to imlemenet this configurationon three front end servers and a back end SAN.  What I have seen there needs to be clustering software running.  Looks as though enterprise informix doesn't have it built in so needs to come from the OS/ VMware level.   Is this true?

If so are big companies running this and with what success???

       -  Does IBM have any TechInfo on SDS setups, installs, and Proof of Concept documentation.

        - Do we have any case studies or documentation of others using the SDS config?

        - Do we have a document or support source (IBM, HCL, Advanced Data Tools, etc.) that can tell us if Informix can use shared disk as raw iSCSI block devices, WITHOUT a clustered file system?

        - If we provide GlusterFS shared filesystem, do we have a minimum number of IOPs and/or minimum disk throughput in MB/sec that is necessary for SDS to function? (We assume these values would be similar to what Informix needs in a standalone config).

    Hi Michael,
I'd like to introduce myself.  I'm the Client Advocacy Manager for Informix.
Could you post your question in the Informix community and see if someone in that community can help?  Here's the link.

    Thank you,
    Shelly
