IBM Champions are the best of the best. They are external experts in IBM technology who also excel at sharing what they know and helping to build and nurture the technical and user communities that have grown up around the technology. We think of them as our external advocates and evangelists.ibm champs.png

You probably already know them—or at least you know of them: you’ve read their blogs to get answers to a thorny problem or learn the newest tips and gotchas; you’ve seen them on stage at conferences; they’ve helped you out in forums or organized the last user group or meetup you attended.

IBM’s World of Watson conference provides a great opportunity to meet some of these rock stars. Over 100 IBM Champions will be at the conference and there will be 60+ sessions being delivered by IBM Champions. (Look for the sessions indicated by a star in Insight Today.)

And if you’d like to get up close and personal to really learn what makes these IBM Champions tick, you can also attend our session, The IBM Champion Program Ninja Rockstar Evangelist Squad (Session 4019A at 1:00 PM on Monday). At the session, you’ll hear directly from some IBM Champions and you’ll learn details about the program, from the criteria to become an IBM Champion to the perks and benefits they receive.

One reason to attend the session and learn all you can about the IBM Champion program is because nominations are open and we’re looking for more of the best and brightest. Maybe it could even be you! Perhaps you’ve been writing some of those blogs, sharing some of those tips on Twitter, or filming those how-to videos and sharing them on YouTube. Perhaps you’ve recently helped launch or support your local user group or spoken at some conferences this year. Or maybe you’ve been grateful to someone who has done those things. Right now, through November 14, it’s your annual opportunity to nominate yourself or someone else to become an IBM Champion.

If you can’t make it to our session at WoW (or if you just can’t wait to get a head start on the nominations!), you can watch the replay of our recent webcast with two IBM Champions who spoke about the program and the value they find in being a champion. The webcast offers hints on completing the application and details on the program’s value, benefits, and processes.

You can also still meet some of the IBM Champions even if you can’t make it to World of Watson thanks to the Meet an IBM Champion series on our blog. We’ve recently profiled collaboration and IBM i expert Kim Greene, Cloud storage expert Bob Oesterlin, and many others.

IBM currently recognizes IBM Champions in Cloud, including Middleware, Analytics, Power, and Collaboration Solutions. The Champions in Cloud and Analytics are also working with technology from cognitive to blockchain. If you’re working in these areas and talking about what you’re building with IBM technology, we want to know more and urge you to consider nominating yourself as an IBM Champion. As IBM Champion Gabriella Davis said, “if there’s someone whose contributions to the
