watsonx.data is excited to announce four features now available in tech preview:
watsonx.data assistant: IBM watsonx.data assistant, a gen AI powered chat interface built with IBM watsonx. It seamlessly provides information about watsonx.data using the product knowledge.
You can chat with the watsonx.data assistant to ask questions about IBM watsonx.data. The assistant answers your queries about watsonx.data based on its knowledge on IBM product documentation. It helps to explore and learn about the product in an easier and faster way.
Semantic Search: The Semantic Search capability will allow IBM watsonx.data users to perform natural language searches on Tables and Views. By leveraging semantic enrichment, this feature will deliver more intuitive and accurate search results based on the search terms used. Integrated across the Data Explorer UI, it will enhance the user experience and improve productivity.
JDBC Pushdown: JDBC pushdown in IBM Presto enables the delegation of join operations (PlanNode) to the underlying JDBC data source. By pushing down the processing of join queries, Presto enhances query performance through efficient use of join operations and query optimization techniques, reducing data transfer and leveraging the data source’s processing power.
Materialized Views (MQT): Materialized Views (MV) in watsonx.data are pre-calculated results of complex queries. By storing these results, watsonx.data can significantly speed up query execution, especially for those involving joins and aggregations. Instead of re-running the original query each time, watsonx.data can directly use the already computed Materialized View (MV) for faster query responses and improved overall performance.
