Troubleshoot pop-up not returning correct values with a global slicer applied

Symptom: Global filter values not applied in pop-up window

Selecting the Drill Navigator on the Ad-Hoc ribbon of the reporting surface the global filter values may not be applied in the pop-up window.

In this example, the filter is globally applied to the IT Finance - Cost Pool - Account report. However, when drilling into Acct_2157, all the values displayed for that account instead values for the owner; displaying a total value of $533,526 and not the expected amount of $219,503.  

 

What's going on

The Filter on applied slicer selections option needs to be checked for the pop-up window to have the same values as the base report.

 

Resolution

To avoid this problem: 

  1. Click on the any column within the report and select the Ad-Hoc tab from the TBM Studio Ribbon
  2. Select the Filter on Applied Slicer Selections check box. 
  3. Click Save.
  4.   Select the Drill Navigator on the Ad-Hoc ribbon of the reporting surface. The global filter should be applied. 

 

In this example, notice that the pop-up for Acct_2157 keeps the global slicer selection for the Owner, Alex Smith with the correct values and amount of $219,503 associated.  

 

NOTE  The procedure above applies to customized reports only. It is not intended for out-of-the-box reports.
