Symptom

Editing a Cost Object in reference data may not appear in the hierarchy view of the Cost Object Permissions dimension.

TIP  See definitions for italicized terms in the Glossary.

Example

Assume that you edit the Cost Object Type table in your reference data. This example shows the Name of a Cost Object changed in the Department Cost Object Type.

Original Cost Object nameNew Cost Object name

The Department named Apps - Back office was changed to Apps - Front Office.

When you navigate to the Cost Object Permissions dimension:

You can see the update if you use the list viewYou can not see the update in the hierarchy view

What's going on

The Cost Object Type can differ for different plans because it uses reference data of a given publication date. The hierarchy view shows the permissions using the hierarchy of the most recently selected plan.

The name of the plan in use appears at the upper-right of the Cost Object Permissions page:

Resolution

To see the update in Hierarchy view:

After the current plan is linked to the new reference data, the Cost Object Permissions will show the updated data in hierarchy view.
