Symptom: A dataset has merged with a predefined model object

You have uploaded a dataset, and it has merged with a default model object within one of TBM Studio's Components. For example:

1. You upload a dataset named "Business Services."
2. You later install the CT Apps - Services component, which creates a default model object also called Business Services.
3. There are now two datasets named "Business Services," so TBM Studio merges them together as part of the component installation.
4. You are unable to reverse the merge to retrieve or separate your original dataset.

What's going on

This is expected behavior in TBM Studio. There are predefined, out-of-the-box (OOTB) modeled objects in each of TBM Studio's Components. If a custom object exists with the same name as a default object, TBM Studio may combine the two.

Solution

Please contact Customer Support as soon as possible so they can assess your situation.

To avoid this issue:

• Implement a standard naming convention for tables and objects to avoid conflicting with predefined names. For more information, see CT Naming Conventions in Studio v12.
• View the Component details before installation. Each Component's description contains a list of all included OOTB modeled objects. For details on CT Apps Components, see Applications and Services Module configuration.
