In our second session of our Advocacy Office Hours (tailored more towards our US/Canada audience) on August 13, 2026 (Thursday) we spoke all about Advocacy!

We shared why Advocacy is important, how our advocates can leverage the program to build their voice in the IBM Z and LinuxONE community, expand their network and take advantage of opportunities to grow their personal brand and career.
 We also had live a demo of the Advocacy Hub, some of its' functionalities and shared available opportunities to take advantage of today!

We also had a very special guest - Joseph Westman (Director, Mainframe Innovation & Transformation Strategy, IBM Champion) with whom we had a very open and honest conversation about the benefits, challenges and rewards that come with advocacy. Joe shared valuable insight on how he grew his presence in the mainframe world over time, how he sees advocacy today and let us in on important "wow" moments in his career and experience as an advocate. And of course, he had some very valuable lessons learned and advice to give to anyone who wants to grow their presence in the IBM Z and LinuxONE community.
