I wanted to be sure you saw today’s exciting news. As part of this news, I’m thrilled to share that we’re expanding the IBM Sterling brand. As you well know, for years, Sterling has been synonymous with pioneering leadership in B2B integration and distributed order management. Now, IBM Sterling will become an integral part of our commitment to help our customers build smarter business networks.

Today, we’ve introduced the IBM Sterling Supply Chain Suite, an open, integrated platform – embedded with AI and blockchain – for building and extending business networks. This new offering represents an important evolution of our multi-enterprise business network strategy.

If you’re asking yourself “what does this mean for me?” The short answer: it’s all upside. None of your current great solutions change and moving forward it will be easier to build on your investment as you continue to grow and evolve. You can expect many more innovations to come – across both our IBM Sterling B2B Collaboration and our IBM Sterling Supply Chain portfolios.

Our VP of Strategy and Offering Management, Jeanette Barlow, has a great blog post and video about the announcement. Marshall Lamb, IBM Sterling CTO, has also released a blog post and video discussing the details of our open philosophy and what this means for developers.

This launch builds upon the momentum of the past year, which saw a number of major managed file transfer releases including:

  • The launch of IBM Sterling Control Center Director v1.0 facilitating management and administration of C:D nodes,
  • Web console for IBM Sterling Connect:Direct,
  • SSO and Blacklisting for IBM Sterling Secure Proxy and SEAS 6.0,
  • Control Center Monitor – Extending to 3rd Party Apps,
  • My File Gateway 2.0 UX improvements, and
  • IBM Sterling File Gateway to IBM Sterling Partner Engagement Manager integration

We’ll be sharing more detail on this news over the coming weeks along with highlighting the key new capabilities we have rolled out in the past year. Watch for more blogs in the user community.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you. Questions? Feedback? Please share in the discussion forums.

I could not be more excited about this news and the momentum behind IBM Sterling.
