Your feedback is important to us. It guides how we invest and innovate to deliver a Managed File Transfer (MFT) platform that addresses your evolving business goals and needs. It was a pleasure to hear from so many of you at this year’s Think Exchange and Think in San Francisco. Those of you who joined us said you were impressed with the volume of strategic, high-quality content on MFT and are already looking forward to next year’s event.

You also shared some of your challenges, priorities and wish list items. We’ve captured some of the themes, and in the coming months we’ll discuss these topics in greater depth. Check back regularly for more detailed content and let us know if there are additional areas we can address to help you in your role and ensure you’re gaining the most value from your IBM MFT platform.

  • Cloud journeys are just beginning. Many of you are searching for low-risk ways to test and build your own best practices and are interested in taking advantage of Docker containers and Kubernetes container orchestration software to reduce installation and maintenance time. To help, we will be publishing more blog posts that explore the cloud from different perspectives wherever you are on your journey. As you augment your existing MFT environments with new use cases in the cloud we’ve got your back, so you can move data seamlessly – in the cloud, on-premise or in a hybrid environment.
  • Partner onboarding is a shared pain. Nearly every organization wants to reduce the pain of partner onboarding and management. Our expanded support for RESTful APIs streamlines integration and new Partner Details Cards (for IBM Connect:Direct 6.0) cut the time it takes to onboard new trading partners from hours or days to minutes. Watch this webcast to learn more about this innovation that simplifies, accelerates and fully automates onboarding through the Connect:Direct console.
  • Simplified management at scale is important. We realize that managing MFT environments can get increasingly difficult as the number of partners and systems you connect with reaches the thousands. It’s not surprising that interest in our soon-to-be-released Admin Center was high, validating we’re on the right path. Reserve your seat for this webcast to learn more about our new end-to-end management console that will make it easier to manage licenses, apply fixes, maintain, upgrade and audit all the nodes in the network from a single user interface.
  • Security remains top of mind. Our new versions of IBM Secure Proxy and Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS) captured your attention because they simplify security administration, management and integration so you can spend less time on security and get better protection. Register now to watch the upcoming webcast. You were also interested in our plans to support new security standards, like the recently released encryption standard TLS v1.3 which we will adopt when toolkits become available.
  • Self-service for business users is a win-win. It’s an ubiquitous problem – experienced IT staff spend so much time answering questions for line-of-business users that they can’t focus on strategic areas where their expertise is really needed. There was a lot of enthusiasm for our latest releases of Connect:Direct and Control Center. The new, modern UIs in each of these solutions make it easier for less technical team members to transfer files, check on file transfer status and run diagnostics themselves. We’ll cover self-service capabilities in more detail soon.
  • Keeping up with all the new capabilities can be challenging. With numerous major enhancements to the IBM MFT suite over the past year, many of you are just scratching the surface of these new capabilities that further secure and simplify scalable file-based transactions. Leave us a comment in the discussion forum if there is something specific you’d like to know more about. We’ll also continue to share tips on new ways you can use your IBM MFT solutions to make your life easier and maximize the value of your investments.

Thanks again for your partnership and all of your feedback at Think. Please let me or my team know if there is anything we can do for you by posting in the discussion forums.
