  • 1.  What Code Level Should I Be Using for TCT?

    Probably one of the most frequent questions I am asked is what microcode level should I be using for DS8000 Transparent Cloud Tiering.  As we all know, code levels will change but I thought it would be good to provide the latest information on this topic. 

    As of today (01/19/2023): 

    TS7700 -  Microcode level 8.53.0.64 for the latest Advanced Object Store (FC5283) updates
    DS8900 - Microcode level R9.3SP2 89.32.37.0 for the latest TCT fixes including support for TS7700 FC5283
    DFSMS -  z/OS V2R4 or V2R5.  Current maintenance information can be found with FIXCAT category IBM.Function.DFSMSCloudStorage and DFSMS/K
