  • 1.  Services Copy Manager cannot detect volume groups with safeguarded policies

    Dear All,

    I setup Copy Services Manager 6.3.9.0 and FS5200 Version 8.6.0.0 (build 169.9.2306081121000). Copy Services Manager connected to FS5200 but cannot discovery safeguarded volume group. Manually create snapshot session on Copy Services manager success on FS5200 but it cannot be recovery. Any Hints about this?

    I'm not familiar with Copy Services Manager, but I suggest you move off of 8.6.0.0. Update it to 8.6.0.4.

    Are you sure that 8.6.0.4 is kosher?  Shouldn't one go to 8.7?  Especially if one only likes LTS versions and not short term versions like 8.6.3.

    Yes, v8.7.0.0 was just released and would be another option, depending on your upgrade philosophy. To stay with LTS, go with 8.6.0.4 or the brand new 8.7.0.0. There are a lot of new features with v8.7, which was released today.

    Hi,

    did you set CSM as your external scheduling application on FS5200? to do this

    1. In the management GUI, select Settings > GUI preferences, and ensure Display Safeguarded backup policy tile and External Scheduler Application Settings: is Visible.
    2. Select Settings > System > External Scheduling Applications.
    3. Enter the web address for IBM Copy Services Manager instance that you configured with the system. https://<IP address>:9559/CSM
    4. Click Save.
