    Hi,

The latest and final Firmware level is 8.4.0.x. At  the moment StorageDisk-2076-8.4.0.6 .

No newer versions like 8.4.1 or 8.4.2 are supported.

Well, there is 8.4.2.1 from 2021/12/02 and 8.4.0.6 2022/01/14. Tried to download 8.4.0.6 from Fix Central and got:

"To download the fix for your product requires an active Software Maintenance Agreement (SWMA)"

So, obviously my SN is not assigned to a SWMA and I can't download any update. :(

    Hello Matthias Rieger,

what @Bernd Albrecht meant by stating  latest and final Firmware level is, that no newer code stream than V8.4.0.x is supported on this specific hardware model, say Storwize V7000 Gen2 (2076-524).
Besides that, the permission to download updates from IBM FixCentral is tied to an active SWMA as per the terms and conditions.

    Hi,
here you can find and check the supported Disks/SSDs with the required drive and controler firmware
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/supported-drive-types-and-firmware-levels-ibm-spectrum-virtualize-family-products
The disk need to be for this device class. For example you can not use disk  you have bought for a Flashsystem 5xxx on a Flashsystem 7xxx.

    Hi Matthias,
those 3rd party drives won't work with a V7000 Gen2  - it's also worth highlighting that the V7000 Gen 2 (2076-524) is going end of support at the end of this year:

    https://www.ibm.com/common/ssi/ShowDoc.wss?docURL=/common/ssi/rep_sm/3/877/ENUS2076-_h03/index.html&request_locale=en

The link above also lists all the drives that were supported as new purchase features for Storwize V7000 Gen 2.

The link below lists the CRU parts of supported drives:
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/flashsystem-7x00/7.8.x?topic=units-storwize-v7000-2076-524-gen2-replaceable

No other drives are going to work as they won't have the correct drive firmware to be recognised by the system - if you got advice other than that previously, you need to speak to the person who gave you bad information.
