    Hi Prem,

Has someone tried to start this instance using a different user account other than the instance owner, e.g. root?

Can you check by running a "ps -e" command and look for any dsmserv processes. If there are any, check which user owns the process.
Then log in as that user and halt the ism instance.
Check for any lock files in /tmp for the volumes that you specified, then restart TSM using the correct instance owner.

Let me know if this helps, if not we can explore other options.

    Cheers
    Darren

Are you able to create text file  with instance user in this file systems?

Do you check if you dont have any san errors by OS side ?  Fiber card ...

    Hi All,

Thanks for the help and response it is been solved now when we deep dig on this and tried dsmserv on forground we found on 1500 and 1500 port of shredmem is giving error 67 unable to load driver, when we tried telnet 1500 for localhost from localhost only then we reach to conclusion issue is not from Firewall but for sure tsm is not able to use 1500 port which is hard coted than on further troubleshooting we check on netstat -an on Aix the same 1500 port was occupied by another IP on same host, we don't know how that is was the real cause because when we changed the adminport and tcpport on dsmserv.opt and tcpport on dam.sys and tried loading dsmserv it was successful but from other client we are not to communicate with tsm server and additionaly we have attempted to change the tcp port to 1701 according to tsm server setting we are to launch dsmc on client and communication was happening then the whole story was 1500 port occupied and need to be released for tsm application we checked with platform team is there any way to release or reset the 1500 port against that IP which was mistakenly occupied then their take was as per them there is no way to do that. Finally it was decided to reboot the host and after it will release everything automatically, and we restarted and all are normal on 1500 port.

Thank you everyone for your help.

    Thanks
    Prem
