Backups are failing

  • 1.  Backups are failing

    Hi All,

    Currently i don't know why my tsm file system backup started throwing error any advise please.

    12/24/2019 01:30:21 ANS1357S Session rejected: Downlevel client code version
    12/24/2019 01:30:21 Will attempt to get schedule from server again in 20 minutes.
    12/24/2019 01:50:21 TSM Backup-Archive Client Version 7, Release 1, Level 6.2
    12/24/2019 01:50:21 Querying server for next scheduled event.

    additionally it has sql backup as well scheduler service is keep on stopping because of this error and manual backup is working fine.

    Hi Prem,
    additional to the post from @Yann MEUNIER, has the node name been used for another system recently? Especially if it was a Linux/UNIX system originally and after that used for a Windows oder Mac System...
    Then there could be problems with the Unicode handling.

    Thanks I verified all those links it is windows box I didn't access this from Unix not tried anything else it just that backup stopped working all of a sudden.

    Hi Prem,
    ok.
    In your original post is an excerpt from the dsmerror.log from the client. What are the corresponding messages in the server actlog?
    Which Spectrum Protect Version is the server on? Do you have any servers or clients with a version 8.1.2 or higher?

    Hi Prem,
    then your problem is probable this one:
    Version 8.1.2 and higher use other session security features than the versions lower than 8.1.2.

    Hi Jochen,

    That's not the case because we have 4000 + clients multiple servers it should through same error everywhere because ba client version is standard for all.

    then please give some more information to us:
    - dsmerror.log +/- 2 Minutes from the error
    - corresponding actlog
    - q node f=d of the affected node
