  • 1.  Spectrum Protect and VSS backup

My problem is that I have a registered VSS Writer in my Windows server and this VSS Writer is never triggered during a backup.
If I do the same backup with windows internal backup software no problem the writer is triggered.

TSM is sending the VSS command onIdentify but never continues to the API call onFreeze as it should do, if that mean something for you.

Someone told me that this is because Spectrum Protect never uses VSS when doing a backup if the files isn't Open/locked by the operating system.
It feels like there is something misconfigured in the server because normal VSS usage makes the system use VSS for all files in the backup

Does anybody know if there is some settings to get Spectrum Protect to use VSS on all files during a backup?
