    Hi All,

    Is there a easiest way to calculate capacity of backup and archive operation to purchase more tapes.

    i have 7 master server which has a backup and archive operation running and has 14 days 30 days 45 days

    and 365 days retention on all server, i need to purchase more tape can we calculate the capacity.

    how much tape we require for 1 month, accordingly i will calculate for 1 year. We have LTO 3 and LTO5 tapes.

    please let me know if more information required.

    You need dynamic measures of capacity for a period, then you can understand how many volumes you need .  Check your tape storage pool capacity every day or month and save data

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response I have collected the backup and archive log of whole Dec month and added more 2000 TB as a addition because of tape issue so many backup's we're failing that's a rough capacity and in addition 10% in all growth monthly that's what I have calculated till now.
