    Are there any whitepapers/detailed information on Container pools with copy to onsite and offsite tape and SP Server recovery (if not using replication)?

    You can copy container pool to onsite or offsite tapes. You cannot restore file level restore. You have to restore whole container pool then run repair. Data contains on tapes are deduplication data not raw data. You can copy to tape to recover whole container pool. It may take long time to restore then repair. It depends upon how large container pool is.
