  • 1.  Spectrum Virtualize - ISCSI with CHAP for VMware hosts

    Hello, a client of mine has recently implemented FlashSystems 5030 with 8.3.1.x code for a VMWare based development environment. 
    To save investment on network, they decided to go for iscsi implementation. 

    The customer is now criticizing that, when attaching iscsi LUNs to VMware hosts, he is only allowed to use 1way CHAP, 2way CHAP authentication is not supported.  https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/STHGUJ_8.3.1/com.ibm.storwize.v5000.831.doc/svc_iscsivmwaresetupauth.html

    Is there a know limitation/reason not to support 2-way CHAP with iSCSI attached VMware? We would like to counter this somehow since the first remarks were that "Netapp fully supports this".

    I confirm two-way CHAP authentication is currently not supported. I have opened a SCORE to request support.

    I also confirm through CHAP authentication and it works
