    Hello!
    We've got a v3700 virtualized behind v7000.
Is it safe to remove some of the v3700 FC ports from zoning on the fly ?
We want to change zoning config and dedicate some ports on v3700 for hosts connectivity.
    Thank you.

The V7000 will generate some events (which you can fix), but as long as you take the right FC ports and have enough paths between V7000 and V3700 you will be fine.

    Hi,

I would first remove the ports from the Host Mappings. In this way, you will avoid the loss of connectivity errors.

    Hi,

It depends on the changes you are willing to adjust, but you can go path by path and rezone them on the fly, (the storage array may report the LUNs as degraded if there is missing paths to the V7000 nodes), carefully perform the operation and check usage of the FC throughput beforehand to confirm that you are not using all the paths at peak, if so you may have performance degradation on your production.

Note : You can always restore your SAN configuration if you have issues, so keep the changes in zoning small and test before every action.

    Good Luck,
